When we think about buying a stereo, car radio or headset, we most often keep design, usability and sound quality into mind. Pioneer however noticed that among young people sound quality wasn’t seen as that important in the decision process, design and the matching price tag however even more.
To get these youngsters thinking about sound quality and the many benefits that come along with it, we developed a fun game in the form of a Facebook application. It consists out of a hearing test in which participants can listen to two music samples each round and have to select the one that sounds the best. Got one right? Then you climb a Gigahertz on Pioneer’s ladder of endless respect. Easy as that.
And with result! In just a few weeks’ time, the game has already been played 4570 times with an average play interaction rate of 10 minutes. Already 38 players conquered all 15 levels winning the ultimate title of Grandmaster, with more to come. Definitely an astonishing result knowing that the game was launched via a single Facebook post on the Facebook page of Pioneer without any media support so far.
